Each piece begins with scorched glass and ends in a photographic darkroom. Made using traditional silver gelatine printing, every work is a one-of-a-kind original abstract artwork.
MADE ONCE
I’m Christopher, and I handmake these works in my Nottinghamshire darkroom. The process is slow, physical and impossible to repeat, and over time, the way each piece is seen begins to shift. New details emerge. Familiar ones fall away. It becomes something that grows with you rather than simply something you look at.
MADE TO MATTER
I wrote a short book about the objects we choose to surround ourselves with. It explores why some things carry genuine presence, and others simply fill space, and what it means to bring something irreplaceable into your home.
