If for any reason you change your mind, artworks can be returned within 14 days of delivery. They must be returned in their original condition and packaging, and sent using a reputable courier service. To initiate a return, please contact the studio at studio@christopherjamesturley.com.

In the unlikely event that an artwork arrives damaged, please email the studio as soon as possible so a replacement, repair, or refund can be arranged.

Commissioned or custom-made works are made to order and are not eligible for returns.

Full Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all consumer purchases made online from Christopher James-Turley. It outlines the conditions for returning artworks and the circumstances under which refunds or replacements are available.

This policy operates in accordance with UK consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where there is any conflict, statutory rights take precedence.

2. Change-of-Mind Returns (Non-Faulty Goods)

  • Buyers have the right to cancel their order for any reason within 14 calendar days of receiving the artwork.

  • Notification of intent to cancel must be made in writing via email to studio@christopherjamesturley.com within this 14-day period.

  • After notifying of cancellation, the artwork must be returned within a further 14 calendar days.

  • Returned artworks must be in perfect, undamaged condition and in their original packaging. Proper packing is essential to prevent damage during transit.

  • Returns should be sent using a tracked and insured courier service at the buyer’s expense, with proof of postage retained.

  • Once received, the artwork will be inspected to confirm its condition. If the return is approved, a refund will be issued for the purchase price only (excluding original delivery costs) within 14 calendar days of acceptance.

  • If the returned artwork shows signs of damage, mishandling, or inadequate packaging, the return may be refused or subject to a partial refund to reflect loss in value.

3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

  • Any artwork that arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described must be reported within 14 days of delivery. Notification should be sent to studio@christopherjamesturley.com, including photographs and a brief description of the issue.

  • If the damage or fault is confirmed, the buyer will be offered a replacement, repair, or refund, depending on the circumstances.

  • In cases where a refund is issued, it will include any reasonable return postage costs incurred by the buyer.

  • Refunds for damaged or faulty items will be processed using the original payment method within 14 calendar days of confirmation.

4. Inspection and Acceptance of Returns

  • All returned items are subject to inspection upon arrival.

  • Artworks showing damage, signs of misuse, or missing original packaging may be refused or refunded at a reduced value.

  • Proof of return shipment and insurance is required to avoid any dispute regarding items lost or damaged in transit.

5. Refund Process and Timelines

  • Refunds are issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase.

  • Refunds are processed within 14 calendar days of the return being accepted.

  • For approved repairs or replacements, estimated completion or delivery times will be communicated directly to the buyer.

6. Exceptions and Exclusions

  • Artworks described as non-returnable, commissioned, or custom-made are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

  • These exclusions do not affect statutory rights where an item is faulty or misdescribed.

  • Returns received after the stated deadlines, or without prior written approval, may be refused.

7. Liability

Liability under this policy is limited to the purchase price of the artwork. Responsibility cannot be accepted for indirect or consequential losses arising from delivery delays, courier handling, or third-party services.

This policy does not limit or exclude any rights provided by UK consumer law.

8. Governing Law

This policy and all transactions made through this website are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
