An Echo of Ignition

Capturing the essence of work in a few words often poses a challenge. In my perception, each piece occupies a space that seamlessly connects with the observer, essentially becoming a reflection of their psyche. Much like the Rorschach inkblot tests, I entrust the voyage of exploration to the viewer.

Whilst exhibiting in Surrey last September, I encountered an inspired gentleman whose resonance with my work was profound. Our conversation delved deeply into the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of the prints, and it was during this exchange that he coined a phrase that has lingered in my thoughts ever since: "echoes of ignition."

This phrase struck a chord within me because it transcends the mere physicality of the medium, encapsulating instead the mental journey experienced by the viewer when engaging with the complete piece.

Ideas spark to life as you delve into the intricate details held within the artwork. It's like embarking on a journey where the destination remains unknown until it unfolds before your eyes. Submerged thoughts resurface, triggering a reaction similar to combustion.

As I engage in more discussions about my work, I find this phenomenon occurring with increasing frequency, and it has become one of the most gratifying aspects of my artistic endeavours.
